Meal Plans
MyFitnessPal
You will track your food via the app My Fitness Pal, which will allow me to monitor the breakdown of your daily food intake. Your meal plans will have a healthy balance of carbohydrates, protein and fats, suited to your goals. We will ensure together that an average day of eating consists of meals you enjoy on a schedule that works for you. I can provide you with as many recipes as you want, but we will work through your own recipes of foods you enjoy to make sure you still get to eat your favourite foods.
Having a nutrition plan doesn’t mean you can’t eat the things you like, and that your meals will be boring and tasteless! Thinking more carefully about what you put in your body enables you to fully understand how you will achieve your goals. Small changes can transform how you feel throughout the day and will also have a positive impact on your training. It isn’t about cutting down to only 1 meal a day, or force feeding yourself food before bed. It’s about eating the right food at the right time, and the right amount to make you feel good.
Count your calories!
Achieving your goals does not have to include sacrificing food you love.
Macro Nutrients
-
Carbohydrates
Carbs are found in foods like bread, pasta, fruits, and vegetables and are broken down into glucose, which is the body’s primary source of energy. Carbohydrates are essential because they fuel our muscles during physical activity, support brain function, and help maintain proper organ function. Without enough carbohydrates, the body may struggle to perform efficiently, leading to fatigue and impaired cognitive function.
Our bodies need carbs; we are not designed to efficiently convert carbohydrates into fat stores, so don't be afraid of them!
-
Proteins
Proteins are essential nutrients made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of the body's tissues. Found in foods like meat, fish, eggs, dairy, beans, and nuts, proteins play a crucial role in repairing and building muscles, supporting the immune system, and producing enzymes and hormones. They are necessary for overall growth, tissue maintenance, and the body's ability to heal. Without adequate protein, the body cannot effectively repair tissues or support vital functions, leading to muscle loss, weakened immunity, and other health issues.
-
Fats
Fats are a vital nutrient that provide a concentrated source of energy and play a crucial role in the body’s functioning. Found in foods like oils, butter, nuts, and avocados, fats are essential for absorbing fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K), supporting cell structure, and producing hormones. They also help protect organs and insulate the body against temperature extremes. Despite their high-calorie content, fats are necessary for overall health, and a balanced intake supports brain function, energy levels, and long-term wellbeing.
